Why You Need to be Writing More as an Entrepreneur to Gain a Loyal Following

If you are reading this article, you have some sort of desire to write or communicate in some form or fashion. You probably want to understand the power of writing in the online space. This is an essential piece of you becoming a thought leader, whether you are an entrepreneur, blogger, or even an author. Your audience needs to know that you can articulate your ideas clearly to speak to their hearts and solve their problems.

Your goals may not be to hold the number one spot on Medium like mine, but you should be writing on platforms to share content with the people you serve. As you show up giving to them freely, in a method I like to call “teach and grow”, they will come to respect you as the expert in your field. When you find out something innovative from your experience, research, or courses, you should be happy to share it with the people who are two steps behind you.

There is no such thing as “giving too much” because you are continuously growing and will have more to give. Through writing, your readers have the chance to understand and apply the strategies or fill unstoppable with your motivational pieces. With time and consistency, you will gain the loyalty from you audience in what it is you do.

You should be writing to prove that you know what you are doing in your field of expertise. People need to know why they should even connect with you on your platforms. With so many people in the online space, it is easy to not be “seen”. Therefore, you need to give your audience a reason to stay. They need to be thinking, “I wonder what (you) are going to come up with next.” This will keep them super engaged, checking your writings and posts long after they have been written.

You can have all the best paid products and services in the world, but if you cannot communicate and connect with your tribe, then it’s a complete waste of time concerning your sales. You just have to put yourself out there and follow your intuition. There’s always a calling for you to share something that could help someone. Your writing has the power to end suffering. Don’t hold back.

In fact, I want to show you a quick way to write your powerful messages:

It may sound really weird to tell you to tell someone a story if you want them to come into your community of expertise, but I’m telling you, it works! How do you think people like the Kardashians have made it so big? We know everything about their lives. I’m not saying you should air all of your dirty laundry for fame. What I am trying to get you to see is that stories help you become real to others. When you are vulnerable, you become more believable. Take them through your journey.

2. Connect with a struggle.

As you share your story, let them know what your struggle was. It makes you more human. If people wanted perfection, there would be no point of having any businesses. We would all fail. What we want is to know that we are not the only ones who have the struggles we desperately want to overcome. If we see someone we admire dealt with low self-esteem, and that is our problem, then we are more likely to feel relieved about it. The key is to let them see you don’t have it all together, and that you are a work in progress.

3. Show the transformation.

So now that your audience knows you had a problem, show them how they can transform like you. Now, you may not be able to do it all with a single post, but at least show up and give them some value they can apply to end the suffering of their pain. Give them the before and after photos. Tell them the lows, but then share the highs you have now. You are their teacher. With your words, you could literally change the world.
