Should We Meet Again

The space between the beginning and the end

You say hello
to someone
sitting,
waiting,
perhaps for you,
but maybe not.

Some small moment
sees you linger,
longer than
you would
have thought
you had intended.

That may be
what you think
tomorrow
of today,
but maybe not.

Many hours
later turned
to seconds,
you find
that you
must leave,
and so you do,
but maybe not.

For you
have loved
the moment,
and the moment
loved you back.

And the moment
may be over
but maybe not.
