A Journey Through The Wormhole

The world is now affected in COVID-19. Thousands of people are dying and Global warming consistently threatening the natural world.The earth and Homo sapiens are now under threat. Many species became extinct from the earth. As we all know dinosaurs became extinct 66 millions year ago because of slamming mountain sized meteor into the earth . So, sooner or later we have to move from this earth. Otherwise we can’t save the human civilization. What if we find a habitable exoplanet which is lightyears away from our planet? Is it possible to go there to save the human civilization? More specifically is it possible to go there in a life-time as it is lightyears away?

Theoretically , Yes. In 25th November of 1915, Einstein published his general theory of relativity which is a milestone in the history of physics. A second solution is come out from the Einstein field equation which creates a possibility of WormHole. Now let’s come the point what is WormHole?

The Wormhole theory describes an idea that a tunnel through space-time could create shortcut for long journeys across the universe. In 1935 Einstein and Nathan Rosen elaborated this idea and proposed the existence of “tunnel/bridge” through space time. These tunnels can connects two different points of the space-time and helps to shorten the distance and time. This tunnel is called Einstein-Rosen Bridges or ‘Wormhole’.

Now we know what is wormhole?But how can it be created?

Well, we know that nothing can come out from the blackhole , not even light.And Blackhole creates infinite curve in the space-time fabric.It also creates infinite density in the space-time. This state of the infinite density is called singularity. When two blackhole creates singular point and these singular point can interact somehow , a tunnel or wormhole is created immediately. This is very theoretical to till date. Many theories say that time travel is also possible through the wormhole.

The hindrance to the existence of wormhole is instability. It can be created in nano-seconds and can be destroyed also in nano-second.The size of a wormhole is 10^-35 m which is less than an atom. Only negative energy density can stabilize and enlarge this wormhole. But to get this energy we need negative energy density matter . These are still unknown. Using Casimir effect , negative energy density can be created in laboratory.But this is very few in amount. So, now it is almost impossible to create such massive number of energy in the laboratory. Maybe one day!

Till now it is very hot topic to the science-fiction writer. But who knows it can be applied science someday.
